There was a time when the Greek myths we know so well were being told to us for the first time as a child. Looking through some old boxes today at home I found a great list I seem to have made after hearing of the Labours of Hercules for probably one of the first times. The mix of my 8 year old imagination and what I thought was also cool are interweaved hilariously!

1) Hercules meets a snake with six tails that strangles you
2) He meets a dog with three sets of teeth that can bite you really hard
3) He meets a lemon that hypnotises you
4) He has to block a deep fast running river with rocks so the river runs the other way
5) He meets a deer with five mouths
6) He meets a leopard that can freeze you with his spots
7) He meets a banana that has big teeth
8) He has to dig for treasure in a mountain
9) He has to catch a piranha
10) He has to catch the lego man in Legoland
11) He has to travel to Australia in a metal spaceship and capture the tortoise with spikes on its shell
12) He has to fight the ogre that can turn into anything on a big hill
Perhaps this could be a new retelling of the classic myth?! Guess it also goes to show how when a story is passed down it can very easily be distorted!!
